The short version
Flip Image does everything on your device. Images you flip are never uploaded, sent to a server, or shared with anyone. The extension has no account, no login, and collects no personal data.
What the extension does with your images
- Flipping happens locally in your browser using the built-in canvas — the image bytes never leave your computer.
- When you save a flipped image, it is written straight to a folder you choose on your own device.
- No image, filename, or thumbnail is transmitted anywhere.
Data we collect
None. Flip Image does not collect, store, or transmit any personal or sensitive user data. It does not track your browsing, and it does not use analytics or advertising code inside the extension.
Permissions, and why they're needed
- Context menus — to add the right-click "Flip Image" menu.
- Downloads — to save the flipped image to disk.
- Storage — to remember your chosen options locally.
- Scripting & host access — to flip an image in place on the page you right-clicked, and to read that image's bytes locally so the "Save flipped…" item can save the mirrored version. This access is used only for flipping; no page content is collected or sent anywhere.
- Notifications — to show a brief status message when needed.
- Side panel — to show the drop-zone panel.
This website
This site (flipimage.cc) is a static onboarding page hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It uses privacy-friendly, cookieless aggregate analytics (page counts only) with no cross-site tracking and no advertising cookies, so no cookie consent banner is required. The extension itself contains no analytics.
Third parties
The extension does not sell or share any data, because it does not collect any. Optional links (such as the rating stars) may open Google-hosted pages (a feedback form or the Chrome Web Store) in a new tab; those pages have their own privacy policies.
